CHI Schools Hosts Student Style-Off Competition for Miss USA

On June 3, the CHI Schools Department teamed up with the Southeast Texas Career Institute, a CHI Partnered School in Silsbee, Texas for the first ever Student Style-off Competition for the 2014 Miss USA Pageant.

Farouk Systems’ Artist and Miss USA Stylist Efrain Leiva and CHI Schools Manager Dixie Russell had the opportunity to select 4 talented future hairdressers to assist at the live show in Baton Rouge, LA.

21 students competed in multiple rounds of style challenges for the chance to attend Miss USA 2014. The challenges involved recreating styles from the latest Beauty Bash Collection.

The final 7 contestants had the unique opportunity to work alongside Efrain as he guided them through a mock backstage experience. The girls were taught the essentials of pageant styling and the importance of creating precise hairstyles in a fast-paced atmosphere.

The first place winner, Jennifer Russell styled alongside Farouk Systems’ artists at the live show, helping Miss USA Contestants look glamorous and feel confident. The 3 runners-up; Kali Davis, Brittany Roberts and Crystal Whitehead had the opportunity to attend the show and assisted with the Miss Universe Style Illuminate by CHI Booth prior to the pageant.
